Smith Wynd CPA is seeking a seasoned Director of Tax to oversee and execute the tax compliance needs of our clients. The successful candidate will manage a team of experienced tax preparers, ensuring high-quality and timely service. This role will work closely with the firm’s partners to promote the firm’s standards and culture.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee Tax Compliance Workflow: Manage the workflow of tax compliance projects, supported by a robust administrative team to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Quality Review: Conduct quality reviews of completed work, ensuring technical proficiency and integrity of workpapers.
• Team Development: Provide training and development opportunities for the tax team during non-peak periods to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Client Service Opportunities: Collaborate with firm partners to identify and develop opportunities for additional value-added services for clients.

Qualifications:

• CPA certification
• 8-10 years of tax preparation experience in public accounting
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and UltraTax is preferred
• Previous experience managing a team
• Excellent communication skills with a strong desire to engage and build relationships with clients.
• Driven to expand knowledge and continuously develop skills
• Positive and encouraging attitude
