Office Technician
Pupil Personnel Services

Location: California School for the Deaf, Fremont DEPARTMENT OF
Salary: $3,609 – $4,518 monthly EDUCATION
$200 bilingual pay
Duties
Under the direction of the Pupil Personnel Services Director, the incumbent maintains
confidential student records and filing. Interprets legal documents and communicates with
all parties involved. Processes confidential requests with outside agencies including but
not limited to: Local Education Agencies (LEA), school districts, colleges/universities,
support agencies/services, legal office, law enforcement, and parent/families.
Responsible for ordering materials and office supplies, billing, and budgeting for the PPS
department. Assists the Director of PPS in reviewing of confidential student files. Assists
PPS Director with contracts.
Minimum Qualifications
1) At least one of year of experience in California state service at a level of
responsibility equivalent to that of an Office Assistant, Range B OR
2) Two years of experience in typing and clerical work
3) Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
Desired Qualifications
1) Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Docs, and SharePoint
2) Must be willing to learn new electronic platforms such as PowerSchool and IEP
System (SIRAS)
3) Must be able to problem solve and multi-task
