CURRENT HOLLAND HOSPITAL EMPLOYEES- Please apply through Find Jobs from your Workday employee account.
Under minimal supervision and with accuracy, processes all new Cardiac and Pulmonary patient referrals through telephone intake, verification of insurance coverage, scheduling, and registration. Manages phone and fax systems and on-line file sharing programs. Orders supplies and completes other administrative tasks as requested. Manages frequent interruptions while completing job duties. Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers. This position reports directly to the Manager of Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab.
Patient Scheduling-Collaborates with clinical staff and Manager to insure that referrals meet participation criteria and are appropriate to the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab setting .
  • Assists patient with information about their physician orders and their insurance coverage.
  • Manages referrals and performs scheduling of patient appointments according to department procedures and guidelines.
  • Schedules appointment times that are responsive to patient convenience while also optimizing efficiency in line with department -wide targets and goals.
  • Tracks all referrals and communicates the status of referrals to the Manager.
  • Exercises critical thinking to identify and report potential issues related to patient satisfaction, safety, and/or care needs.
  • Updates all systems appropriately with canceled, no-show, and/or changed appointment information.
Insurance Verification-Performs the complete insurance verification process for Cardiac and Pulmonary patients.
  • Reconciles patient insurance using Rev 360.
  • Applies specific payer guidelines related to Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab, and completes processes according to department procedures.
  • Obtains pre-authorizations as required.
  • Assists Manager to address denials.
  • Actively seeks to continue growing knowledge related to increasing revenue stream.
Registration
  • Performs the complete registration process completely and accurately.
  • Obtains required signatures on forms compliantly for consent to treat and HIPAA.
  • Completes MSP process and tracks due dates as required.
  • Provides information and forms related to available financial assistance options and tracks completion.
  • Maintains HIPAA compliance and Patient Bill of Rights.
Administrative Duties
  • Obtains orders for services per department and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manages the phone system efficiently and professionally while providing excellent customer service to callers.
  • Manages incoming and outgoing faxes efficiently tracking them as indicated.
  • Responsive to and efficiently manages on-line file sharing requests.
  • Prepares new patient packets per service as needed. Manages PFS requests for records.
  • Completes patient discharge process in Affinity.
  • Obtains additional medical records as requested.
  • Participates in and supports department quality initiatives.
  • Creates Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab patient education class schedules including arranging times for speakers.
  • Performs other administrative duties as assigned.
Clinic Duties
  • Maintains, monitors, and orders supplies for office and clinic.
  • Updates decorations and postings on clinic bulletin boards as indicated.
  • Assists to maintain clinic in a clean, orderly, and safe manner according to established guidelines and policies.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
