The Lead Systems Integration Engineer will support deep space exploration on the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert and Systems Integration Lead Engineer for the integration activities of the Gateway Ready Avionic Integration Lab (GRAIL), a critical integration effort of the Gateway Program which will return to the Moon.
- Collaborate with lab personnel, partners, providers, and testing stakeholders to understand interface and testing requirements.
- Leverage interface knowledge to assure lab design provides the proper interfaces and fidelity to satisfy testing objectives.
- Develop expertise on lab verification efforts and ensure facility is applicable for assigned testing.
- Assist in lab equipment testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure equipment meets requirements and is satisfactorily integrated.
- Maintain strict documentation of integration processes, equipment specifications, configurations, and testing results.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Provide support to lab personnel and external customers on integrated systems and their specifications.
- Continuously reassess documents, policies, and procedures for future configurations of the lab.
- Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews.
- Communicate and organize to efficiently work within a team environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED:

- This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Must have 5 years of experience in the field of engineering or in a related area.
- Experience integrating complex hardware and software systems.
- Troubleshooting, diagnostic, and debugging skills.
- Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.
- Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
DESIRED:
- Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork.
- Experience with NASA processes.
WORK LOCATION:
- This position is located on site.
- This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.
- This position may require some travel.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

- Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
