The Sr. Accountant performs various technical accounting functions and analytical reviews for a designated accounting area. This position helps the business unit achieve goals, anticipate needs and resolve problems. In addition, the Sr. Accountant will provide guidance and mentoring to other associates on the accounting team.

Responsibility

Work closely with business operational partners, to improve internal controls, operational efficiencies and accuracy. Act as a team resource and supervise activities as directed/needed.

Perform complex analyses of various technical accounting concepts. Complete and review account reconciliations, takes corrective action to maintain internal controls.

Prepare financial reports in accordance with general accepted accounting principles. Analyze financial statements for accuracy and trends.

Maintain proficient knowledge of accounting theories and principles; apply knowledge to work assignments and projects.

Strong PC skills including proficiency with the primary Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Excel.

Experience with ERP systems, like PeopleSoft, JDE, Oracle, SAP etc.

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.

Ability to understand and follow instructions and work independently to solve for complex problems

Ability to multitask and prioritize work accordingly.

CPA preferred
