ATTENTION ALL APPLICANTS! The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region Highways & Aviation is looking for an Office Assistant 2 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing: As an office assistant 2 for the Dillingham airport, you'll be providing direct administrative support to the staff and community of Dillingham. You will be responsible for the following but limited to:
  • Oversee the Airport Security Identification Area badging & training system for the Dillingham Airport
  • Tracks and verifies accuracy of expenditures and coding
  • Collect and input timesheets into the MMS systems
  • Compile confidential personnel paperwork
  • Receptionist for in-person & telephone contacts
  • Arrange travel
Our organization, mission, and culture:
The Dillingham Maintenance Station is made up of 9 staff who work cooperatively to operate and maintain regulatory certification and compliance of this important FAR Part 139 and TSA 1542 airport, State Highways, and Roads. This also includes rural airports across approximately 40,000 square miles of Southwest Alaska. We are the "moving" in the DOT&PF mission to "Keep Alaska Moving through Service and Infrastructure!".
Our crews operate and maintain these airports and roadways in all conditions, year around. Whether plowing snow in near "white-out" conditions to prepare the Airport for normal aircraft operations; maintaining Roadways safely for the traveling public; repairing asphalt on paved surfaces; conducting security inspections on Airport; maintaining airport lighting systems; clearing right-of-ways and airport safety areas of vegetation overgrowth; or training for any emergency that may occur, these are just a few of the situations you can find us in while making the difficult seem routine day after day. This position will support these positions. We truly keep Alaska moving!

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or the equivalent.
AND
One year of experience that includes clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.
Substitution:
Education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience; 150 hours of vocation education equal one month of experience).
Special Note: "High school diploma equivalent" means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D.; 2) completion of any basic adult education course equivalent to 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 course hours per week); 3) acceptance in full standing by an accredited college or university; 4) highest grade of school completed plus an amount of paid or volunteer experience that totals 12 years and includes basic clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, or maintaining logs.
Some positions in this class may require the incumbent to operate motor vehicles. Such positions require that the applicant possess a regular driver's license and be 18 years of age or older.
Some position in this class may require skill in typing. Recruitment and selection may include this requirement.
