Job Overview: As the School Nurse, you will play a crucial role in promoting health and wellness within our school community. You will be responsible for providing medical care, managing health records, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. Your role will involve working closely with students, parents, and school staff to create a safe and healthy school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides nursing care to students and staff in accordance with New Jersey statutes, regulations, and Department of Education (DOE) guidelines, as well as school policies.
• Administers medication to students in accordance with prescriptions.
• Administration of tube feedings and care of G-Tube site.
• Conduct health screenings and maintain accurate health records.
• Collaborate with others during IEP meetings regarding child’s health needs and concerns.
• Participate in enrollment screening of students to assist in determining the school's ability to meet student's medical needs.
• Serve as an interface between school and medical professionals.
• Educate students and staff on health topics and wellness practices. This may include assisting in participating and/or organizing medical clinics and various screening activities, as well as conducting in-service staff training on health-related items.

Qualifications:

• RN License required; graduate of an accredited nursing program licensed in the State of New Jersey
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a school, pediatric, or group home setting
• Certified School Nurse License preferred
• Strong knowledge of health regulations, first aid, and emergency procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in emergencies
