• 10 years in gas storage.
• Functions as an expert in well and reservoir integrity assessment.
• Must have 5 years of experience using cased hole inspection tools (cement bond log, magnetic flux leakage, ultrasonic thickness, high-resolution ultrasonic thickness, and through-tubing tools) to estimate corrosion growth rates and remaining life of gas storage wells; must have strong knowledge of inspection tool performance and limitations.
• Uses reservoir engineering/geoscience experience to identify corrosion trends, potential causative factors for corrosion growth, and works with other teams to determine potential mitigative and preventive measures.
• Must have 5 years of experience using burst pressure models (Barlow, API RP 579 Level II, RSTRENG etc.).
• Takes a leadership role to create and implement research projects to evaluate downhole inspection tool performance and burst pressure models.
• Must have strong data analytics, statistics, and coding skills to develop probabilistic assessment models.
• Supervises downhole well inspections as needed, leads field testing of downhole inspection tools, and works on site at SoCalGas’ storage fields as needed.
• Supervises third-party consultants, Ph. D. level researchers, and SIMP Assessment engineers.
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills.

Hourly Pay:

40- 70/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
