JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Marketing Specialist – Research & Digital UX provides strategic, analytical, and project management leadership for Sales and Marketing initiatives. Assists in developing actionable business intelligence to develop product and marketing strategies for the Kentucky Lottery Corporation’s (KLC’s) corporate account partners based on user experience research, product design, and analytics. Communicates effectively, collaborates with diverse groups, and utilizes research techniques to inform product decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists Director of Market Research Strategies in design and execution of both quantitative and qualitative research studies. Defines project scope, objectives, and deliverables, designs the research instrument and analysis, and develops actionable recommendations from the detailed findings.
  • Works directly with Director of Digital Product and Director of Strategic Marketing to facilitate digital research functions, including player surveys, focus groups, AB advertising testing, and/or segmentation work.
  • Serves as main point of contact with standing Kentucky Lottery Fun Club Player Panel, including ongoing recruitment and retention.
  • Works with Director of Market Research Strategies and KLC’s Information Technology (IT) Department in maintenance of databases for various purposes including forecasting, sales performance, game indexing, coupon redemption, and management of Sales and Retailer incentive programs. Gathers data and provides comprehensive reports of information.
  • Anticipates information and insight needs of the Sales and Marketing Departments and any special requests from KLC Senior Management.
  • Aids KLC team members in sourcing and summarizing information needed to make informed decisions on design, promotion, and sale of lottery products.
  • Assists Director of Market Research Strategies in the execution and reporting of consumer data and information. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related Social Science required; related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in marketing or research required.
  • Experience with survey application software & query systems required.
  • Digital Marketing or UX experience highly preferred.
  • Experience in online and offline research methodologies preferred.
  • Must be comfortable presenting research findings to Senior Management, Board of Directors, and field staff as needed.
  • Working knowledge of PC and exceptional skills in Microsoft Office Suite – especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Microsoft BI experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic statistics used in business settings.
  • Experience and knowledge of qualitative and quantitative sampling techniques.
  • Knowledge or experience in the lottery industry a plus.

Salary Range: $59,160-$88,740 . Placement within the salary range is determined based on years of directly relatable experience for the position.
