Responsibilities
- Write scripts for news segments, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and a conversational tone
- Work and collaborate with producers to brainstorm ideas and stories
- Manage in-studio guests upon their arrival, as needed
- Assist with other tasks and projects as needed to support the overall production process.
- Broadcast writing experience on the professional or collegiate level
- Excellent research and fact-checking abilities, with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Familiarity with newsroom software and tools, such as ENPS and Edius, a plus
Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.
