The Controller at Hair Cuttery Family of Brands will report directly to the CFO and play a crucial role in overseeing all financial operations, from G/L management to monthly reporting. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a consumer/retail environment and possess a deep understanding of the unique demands of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization.

In this role, the Controller will support the company's daily accounting and administrative functions under new ownership, while also contributing to the assessment of future opportunities and capital structure. The successful candidate will be proactive and innovative, continuously seeking ways to enhance operational efficiency and drive profitability in our hair salon services and retail products.

We are seeking a hands-on individual who will take ownership of improving processes, approaches, and team dynamics. The Controller will be pivotal in driving the company forward and ensuring sustained success in a competitive market environment.

Requirements

• 7 - 10 years’ experience in Accounting
• CPA required.
• Experience in PE-backed environment; comfortable with resource constraints and willing to do more with less.
• Familiarity with Ecommerce, Direct-to-consumer, Sales business models.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Sage or other financial systems.
• Must be very organized, detail-oriented and possess exceptional time management skills.
• Entrepreneurial and self-motivated attitude.
• Comfortable working in a lean structure with a very small team.
• Excellent communication skills. Able to convince, but also able to listen and understand.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex issues in a simple manner.
• Highly motivated, self-starter who manages projects end-to-end and has a demonstrated track record of getting results, organizing and prioritizing deadlines.
