Senior Full Stack Developer

Location: Minneapolis, MN - Hybrid schedule

Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer with extensive experience in Java development, API integration, and AWS services. You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, working alongside software development engineers, strategic partners, product managers, and subject domain experts. Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain robust APIs, develop user interfaces, and ensure seamless deployment of software into production.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data APIs and data delivery services supporting critical operational and analytical applications for internal business operations, customers, and partners.
• Ensure successful development and deployment of model code, data pipelines, APIs, and user interfaces into production environments.
• Troubleshoot issues and support production applications to maintain high availability and performance.
• Continuously integrate code into on-premise and AWS cloud environments.
• Optimize solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement and adhere to methodology, standards, and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal and external technology service providers to ensure product integrity.
• Mentor and coach other developers on the team.
• Ensure solutions meet customers' business goals and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with project team members, other teams, and outside vendors or consultants.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS/MS degree, preferably in a technical or scientific field.
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in software development, including designing, developing, integrating, and running business and big data applications.
• 1-2 years of hands-on experience working with AWS services as a developer.
• Strong experience developing with Java and building REST APIs.
• Experience developing Angular applications.
• Proficiency with SQL and familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL and AWS DynamoDB preferred).
• Experience working with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions, Aurora, S3, and API Gateway.
• Experience developing infrastructure-as-code using AWS tools (e.g., Cloud Development Kit, CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with automating application deployment, continuous delivery, and continuous integration (e.g., Git, GitLab, Jenkins).
• Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog management tools (e.g., VersionOne, JIRA).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to understand and set direction for complex technology integration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Self-learner with the ability to pick up new technologies quickly and provide tangible results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with design patterns and implementation using microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with deploying and managing infrastructures based on Docker, OpenShift, and AWS.
• Knowledge of data engineering and experience with big data technologies.
• Experience with Redux / Flux / NgRx store implementation.
• Experience developing, testing, and deploying APIs using Python-based frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, and/or GraphQL.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries involving joins and subqueries.
• Experience with data visualization frameworks such as D3.
• Understanding and focus on business outcomes.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Functional knowledge of the airline business or airline IT processes.
• An eye for detail.
• Ability to develop both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being.
