Akkodis is seeking a highly skilled Structural Analysis Engineer in Mt. Vernon, WA . The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in performing detailed finite element analysis (FEA) of components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and full vehicles using advanced FEA tools. The role requires managing projects from inception to execution, ensuring the durability and reliability of components and assemblies, and collaborating with various departments to gather necessary data.

Pay Rate: 55-65/hr

Responsibilities:

• Perform FEA using tools such as ABAQUS and LSDYNA.
• Conduct fatigue life calculations using tools like n-code and FE-safe.
• Validate models through test correlations.
• Manage projects by accepting requests, creating detailed project plans, and executing them according to department procedures.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports.
• Collaborate with project requestors to design durable components and assemblies.
• Work with other Technical Center departments to gather necessary data for projects.
• Develop and refine department analysis procedures and processes through method development and capability enhancements.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field (M.Sc. or Ph.D. preferred).
• 3 years of experience with implicit (static and dynamic) and explicit analysis.
• Proficiency in pre- and post-processors such as Hypermesh and ANSA.
• Advanced knowledge of FEA software including ABAQUS and LSDYNA.
• Proficiency in fatigue life calculation tools like n-code and FE-safe.
• Solid understanding of fatigue theory.
• Interest or experience in multi-body dynamics and vehicle dynamics.
• Interest or experience with explicit analysis such as crash or drop tests.
• Scripting experience with Python.
• Experience with CAD software, particularly PTC Creo.
