Job Description: The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Requirements:
2 years of recent acute care Charge Nurse Open Heart (CVOR) experience required
Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license required
NIH Stroke Scale certification within 30 days of employment start date
Bachelor’s Degree, Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification before employment start date
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of employment start date
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months of employment start date
Neonatal Resuscitate certification within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities:
Accept accountability for directing and overseeing staff roles on the unit
Coordinate patient placement within the unit according to acuity, skill mix, and staff availability
Assist in identifying and addressing educational needs of the unit
Participate and direct patient care conferences, addressing patient discharge needs
Ensure that rounds are made with physicians and stay informed of patient condition changes, making appropriate clinical decisions
Ensure that orders are appropriate and carried out in a timely manner
