Job Description

Job Description

Seeking to fill a FT therapist position for a forensic treatment agency. The agency
serves a high need/high barrier adult population in the Los Angeles area. Agency
provides a variety of services that includes: mental health, substance counseling,
therapy, psychiatric and medication support, behavioral health, daily living skills, and
intensive case management services. We work closely with the courts and the probation
department. The ideal candidate is comfortable with working with this population and is
also comfortable with fieldwork. The therapist will work as a member of a
multidisciplinary team delivering clinic and field-based services. Flexible work schedule
may be available.

Some of the programs we are looking to hire for:

Project Based Housing (PBH) - Funded by the Department of Health Services, Office
of Diversion and Reentry, PBH sites offer Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) in the
City of Los Angeles that provides fully ADA-compliant housing for the transitional
homeless population in Los Angeles. Residents receive on-site wraparound services.

Intensive Case Management Services Program (ICMS) – Funded by the Department
of Health Services, Office of Diversion and Reentry, the ODR Housing/ICMS program
provides intensive wraparound services to the high-need/high-barrier behavioral health
population in the LA County jail system. The program provides both interim and
permanent supportive housing for some of the most underserved, or highest utilizers in
the County system.

Co-Occurring Disorder Court (CODC) – Project 180 is proud to be the sole treatment
provider for the Los Angeles Co-Occurring Disorders Court, founded in 2007. Designed
for defendants with significant behavioral health needs, this diversion program provides
intensive supervision and treatment. Successful participants have the opportunity not
only to turn their lives around, but to have a reduction or dismissal of their criminal
charges. This program runs in collaboration with the Superior Court, Public Defender’s
Office, District Attorney’s Office, Department of Mental Health, and the Department of
Public Health.

Department of State Hospitals (DSH) Diversion – DSH Diversion is funded by the
Department of State Hospitals (DSH) to support the diversion of clients with serious
mental illnesses who have the potential to be deemed incompetent to stand trial on
felony charges. In partnership with ODR, participants receive supportive transitional
housing and onsite clinical services. The Probation Department provides pre-trial
supervision. Project 180 operates two DSH Diversion houses in South LA for 20 men
and 20 women.

Duties:

* Providing individual and group therapy services, including intake assessments,
treatment plan development, crisis management/intervention support

* Conducting bio-psychosocial assessment with clients. Develop a recovery plan of
action and implement services towards recovery.

* Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with the client and family members.
Assist clients, families, and significant others in understanding mental illness and
gaining their acceptance of and participation in their recovery and psychiatric treatment
recommendations.

* Participate, coordinate, and implement cooperative arrangements and/or team
conferences with various interdisciplinary team members in the development and
implementation of clients treatment plan and aftercare plan

* Maintain and update clients files and documentation in accordance with DMH, DHS
and other county/state standards.
Skills

* Must be technologically proficient

* Preferred knowledge of DMH paperwork

* Strong written/verbal communication and time management skills

* Preferred one year of direct service experience in a mental health setting which has an
interdisciplinary team approach
Notes

* Must have own transportation, valid California Driver License, and proof of automobile
insurance coverage. DMV record will be checked.

*Must be registered or pending registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences

*Must be fully vaccinated for COVID 19

* Please be looking for a long-term position in an energetic and enthusiastic team
environment

*Clinical supervision to collect hours for licensure is provided

*Onboarding training and training for professional development available

Job Type: Full-time

Salary range: $33.50 - $42.00 per hour
