Job Description

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Occupational Therapists for full-time roles with school districts in the Port Angeles, Washington area for the upcoming school year. We are seeking dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students through occupational therapy services.

Requirements:

  • Valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Washington
  • Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Completion of a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Occupational Therapy
  • Familiarity with local and state regulations governing occupational therapy services in schools
  • Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' occupational therapy needs within the school setting
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory integration, and activities of daily living
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate therapy goals and strategies into the student's educational program
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to contribute to the development of goals, objectives, and accommodations for students receiving occupational therapy services
  • Provide consultation, training, and support to teachers and staff on strategies to promote students' independence and participation in school activities
  • Stay current on best practices, research, and trends in pediatric occupational therapy through professional development opportunities
