Brain Injury Solutions is Hiring an IT Specialist Near Roanoke, VA

About the Job
Installs, modifies and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems and provides technical advice and support to Brain Injury Solutions' administration and system users participating in Community Living Connection (CLiC). Provides technical advice, support and trouble-shooting for the CLiC videoconferencing platform. Information technology systems, software applications, hardware, trouble shooting computer and user problems, customer service, IT organization and tracking methods. Creates and maintains up-to-date and appropriate documentation for BIS administration. Responds to requests and completes tasks in a timely manner. Periodically may require travel to client homes, BIS office sites and commercial businesses.

Required:
  • Special technical knowledge of the techniques and procedures of software and network support for multiple users.
  • Must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking and accessory equipment including those for staff and CLiC participants.
  • Experience with personal computer equipment.
  • Sufficient analytical skills to assess problems or unusual situations and develop successful solutions.
  • The ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
  • Must have strong communication and training skills and be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users including those who have experienced brain injury.
  • Minimum education is a vocational or associate degree in a computer or information technology related field or business-related area plus two years of relevant experience.
Preferred (though encouraged to apply regardless):
  • Certification in software applications and/or information technology systems preferred.
