Small finance/mortgage company seeking Assistant Controller/Accountant

Duties include:

• Cash Management
• Approve invoices, wires, loan closing, and construction loan draws.
• Maintain personnel records, 401k, pension accounting, vacations
• Review daily and monthly financial reports
• Prepare quarterly/annual financial and lending activity reports for state agencies, banks and NMLS
• Prepare/review tax and audit work papers for outside accounting firm
• Research/update/disseminate state and federal mortgage lending regulations to staff.
• Serve as backup for various accounting and mortgage loan servicing functions
• Handle state audits
• Annual renewal for state licensing on NMLS.

Excellent office. Must have good credit. Base salary $80,000 - 90,000 with potential for substantial bonus, benefits (401K, health insurance, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, pension). Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Five years relevant work experience, training provided as needed. Report directly to President. Knowledge of mortgage lending and regulations preferred. Supervisory/managerial experience preferred. Proficient with Excel, and Word: experience with QuickBooks preferred. Four-day work week possible May-October.
