A retail clothing company is looking for a Senior Omni channel Inventory Planner to develop and execute comprehensive sales and inventory strategies that align with merchandising objectives and financial targets. The ideal candidate will have strong retail planning and inventory management experience, demonstrating success in optimizing inventory levels, achieving sell-through goals, and using data-driven insights to drive business growth. They should excel in risk assessment, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering actionable performance analyses.

Job Details

HYBRID: 3 days a week on-site in San Francisco, CA . 2 days remote.

PAY: $50-$65/hr

TEMP TO HIRE

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present detailed sales plans at category and item levels, ensuring they support merchandising strategies and financial objectives.
  • Create inventory strategies to optimize in-stock levels and achieve sell-through targets for each season, including effective merchandising displays and product tiering.
  • Utilize historical data to extract insights on sizing, pricing, and inventory performance, applying these insights to improve future seasons.
  • Identify and address risks and opportunities within specific divisions or product classes, proposing proactive solutions.
  • Collaborate with the wholesale team and production to streamline the inventory buying process.
  • Lead monthly reporting on open-to-buy status and collaborate with merchandising to achieve sales targets and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Analyze historical data and current market trends to recommend inventory management strategies.
  • Deliver weekly performance summaries on category and style sales, focusing on key drivers of business growth.
  • Adjust item-level plans during the season and conduct ad-hoc analyses to identify inventory-related risks or opportunities, aligning with overall forecast goals.
  • Optimize markdown strategies to drive sales and margins, ensuring seasonal styles meet sell-through targets.
  • Collaborate with the Wholesale team to leverage in-season inventory-sharing opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or related professional experience required.
  • Ability to work onsite at the San Francisco office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • 5 years of experience in planning or inventory management.
  • Additional consideration given for familiarity with Netsuite or other ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze data objectively and derive actionable insights to enhance business performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration and effective communication.
  • Proficient in multitasking within a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and take initiative to implement solutions.
  • Possess a keen understanding of deadlines and the operational needs of the business.
  • Effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams and colleagues across various departments.
