**Retail Operations Project Manager**

at Design Within Reach Stamford, CT Herman Miller Retail is looking for a Project Manager to join the Retail Operations Team. The position will be responsible for leading and managing the process and development of Operations projects and deliverables for Herman Miller, Design within Reach and HAY Retail brands.

This role will be primarily responsible for management of all Retail Operations projects, including aligning projects with business goals and solutions to drive process improvements, competitive advantage and effectiveness. This role will manage large-scale initiatives involving the transition of programs to new platforms and the merger of disparate systems.

They will be the central point of contact, ensuring all milestones within a project are met, and that all teams are aligned by providing clear and concise planning and communication in order to achieve successful executions. The ability to work independently while adjusting and adapting management styles and techniques to the uniqueness of each project is essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

Manage Project Execution Milestones.

Responsible for project management from inception to completion.

Develop timelines and manage orderly flow of Operations projects from initial scoping development to execution and production of final deliverables.

Proactively and consistently conceive of, define, and develop process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity across Retail Operations initiatives.

Define processes and tools best suited to each project with agility moving between approaches depending on project specifics and goals.

Create detailed project road maps, plans, schedules and work breakdown structures.

Lead all deliverables for Operations projects in support of Sales and cross-functional teams.

Ensure projects are routed for proper approval and all sign-offs are recorded.

Align with leadership team on project timelines and ensure goals are met, working to problem solve as necessary. Ensure that all projects are delivered complete and on time.

Anticipate and manage change effectively in rapidly evolving global business environments.

Facilitate weekly project and team status meetings.

Organize and lead kick off and status meetings with key players to ensure that project needs and deadlines are being met, and send clear and concise recap of next steps.

Manage the overall blueprints for all deliverable projects, updating and evolving as needs and processes shift.

Regularly communicate and present project schedules, statuses, and updates to various team members ranging from junior to Executive level, always tailoring communication and bringing solutions/opportunities.

Ad hoc responsibilities as needed to support Operations and Retail Sales Management teams.

Support New Store Opening, Training and Communications teams as needed.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

5 years of Retail Operations experience.

Client-first perspective on operational sales and compliance processes with a solid understanding of driving solutions.

Excellent analytical, critical thinking, communication and organizational skills.

Proactive, results driven agile self-starter mindset.

The ability to communicate effectively with people at various levels both internally and externally, as well as the ability to develop strong relationships.

The ability to assess priorities and determine a course of action and the ability to anticipate, recognize, and respond effectively to changes.

Ability to learn and navigate new data management systems.

Familiarity with Project Management tools, Microsoft Office, NetSuite and Salesforce.
