Job Summary:

Statesville Country Club is seeking a dynamic and experienced Athletic Director to oversee the comprehensive management of our tennis operations, fitness center, and seasonal outdoor pool. The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader, looking for a mid-level management position. This role involves not only administrative responsibilities but also direct involvement in offering tennis lessons and fitness training to our members. This is a hands-on, highly visible position. The ideal candidate would have a self-starter, “can do”, attitude towards their duties and responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

Tennis Operations:

• Manage and oversee all tennis-related activities and programs, including adult and junior tennis instruction.
• Develop and implement a diverse range of tennis programs, clinics, and tournaments.
• Maintain and manage tennis facilities, including courts and equipment.
• Oversee upkeep and maintenance of Tennis Pro Shop facilities

Fitness Center Operations:

• Oversee the daily operations of the fitness center, including staff management, equipment maintenance, and member services.
• Provide group exercise classes and personal training sessions as requested; we will assist with obtaining necessary certifications.
• Develop and implement fitness programs and schedules that meet the needs of our members.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all fitness center users.

Outdoor Pool Operations (Seasonal):

• Manage the operations of the outdoor pool, including scheduling, staffing, and maintenance.
• Obtain and maintain a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) permit; we will cover the cost of this certification.
• Develop and oversee aquatic programs and activities for members of all ages.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

3-5 years of high-level tennis competition experience

Ability to instruct tennis on both adult and junior levels

Willingness to continue education in both fitness education and CPO permits

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Must be able to bend, squat, stand and walk for long periods of time

Work weeks will sometimes consist of 40 plus hour

Weekends required

Compensation:

This position is an exempt, base salary position plus commission. Commission opportunties include tennis instruction, camps, clinics. Once certified this candidate will also receive commission in personal training and group exercise instruction in our fitness department.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
