Overview

Kimley-Horn's Tallahassee, Florida (FL) office is seeking an CRM Specialist / Senior Archaeologist with 4 years of experience to join their Environmental team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

Serve as a Task Manager and Principal Investigator for a broad array of projects and clients. The successful applicant will work alongside our existing cultural resources and environmental professionals and other senior staff to successfully navigate a variety of federal, state, and municipal ordinances for our clients.

• Ensure clients receive high-quality, on-time deliverables.
• Oversee and coordinate with teams conducting both field and desktop research and impact analysis
• Provide technical oversight and interdisciplinary team oversight
• Provide quality control for all deliverables and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
• Train and mentor junior staff and actively engage in professional development
• Interface with clients and external stakeholders
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations affecting CRM and general industry trends
• Demonstrate technical excellence in their area of expertise and maintain knowledge of best management practices
• Oversee field investigations of proposed project sites to assess or evaluate resources or the potential for resources
• Develop and maintain existing and new business relationships in collaboration with senior staff

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in archaeology, anthropology, historic architecture / architectural history, or a closely related field or 10 years of experience in cultural resources management in Florida and the Southeast United States
• Meets Secretary of the Interior Standards for Professional Archaeologist
• 5 years of experience preparing or reviewing a variety of technical reports, including Cultural Resources Assessment Surveys
• 5 years of experience in survey, testing, and data recovery projects of various sizes and complexity
• Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) preferred
• Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of CRM and relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations
• Knowledge of and experience in applying research methods and forming and maintaining internal-team relationship
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a large, multi-disciplinary team and promote and sustain effective working relationships with clients, the public, and other agencies
• Proficient organizational, schedule, and budget management skills
• Proficiency with GIS and other mapping software
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
