Job Specifications
Major FunctionThis is skilled technical work designed to support the development, operation, maintenance, and enhancement of designated components of the City's geographic information systems (GIS). Tasks are performed in the field and office, during which class incumbents use technical expertise, in combination with a variety of electronic devices, to identify, plot, collect, store, transfer, and display mapping, geographic, land use, and demographic information, as applicable or assigned . Work is performed under the general supervision of a professional and is subject to review while in progress and upon completion, through oral and written reports, observations, results achieved and adherence to GIS protocol .

Minimum Training & ExperienceCompletion of a two-year vocational or college level program in computer drafting, computer science, geography, cartography, land surveying and mapping, geomatics, engineering technology or a related field, and two years of technical experience that includes work in at least two of the following areas: computer aided drafting, GIS/GPS, surveying, locating underground utilities, utility mapping, construction inspection, or engineering technology; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Salary Range
$19.9955 to $54.2594/hourly. Hiring rate generally will not exceed $30.5214/hour
Driver's License Requirements
Must possess a valid Class-E State driver's license at the time of appointment.
