Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE (Summary of major reasons this job exists)
The Trade Ally Marketing Manager will be responsible for marketing, engagement and outreach support activities directed at the recruitment, relationship building, motivation and training of contractors, equipment manufacturers, engineers, architects, and others who provide energy efficiency equipment services to government, institutions and businesses throughout New Jersey territory. In addition, coordination with outreach and marketing team to build relationships with relevant associations and end-use customers, building managers and owners who serve as influencers energy efficiency solutions to help increase market adoption of energy efficiency programs in defined NJ service areas.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Majority of duties performed, but not to be all-inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned)
  1. Build relationships with high potential trade allies to drive increased participation and accountability within the trade ally network.
  2. Provide direct marketing support to assigned accounts, implement marketing and outreach strategies such as monthly communications and annual engagement plans that raise program awareness, increase program engagement, and ultimately drive customer participation in energy efficiency programs.
  3. Maintain excellent communications and relationships with and be responsive to clients, internal staff, end-use customers, participating contractors and builders, trade allies, and regional and local stakeholder groups, dependent on the task.
  4. Develop marketing strategies and comprehensive marketing plans, including market analysis, engagement strategy, messaging, tactics, trainings, and networking opportunities in support of increasing contractor engagement in non-residential energy efficiency programs.
  5. Assess individual market opportunities and adapt diverse tactics to motivate audiences to action.
  6. Establish reporting metrics for gauging impact and provide reporting on a consistent basis both to internal and external stakeholders as well as to trade allies to motivate their participation.
  7. Develop content for marketing collateral, outreach materials including but not limited to email messaging, content articles, program fact sheets, case studies, social posts, training materials, and ad copy in support of our clients' objectives as needed.
  8. Research, analyze and review trade ally data and profiles to determine market engagement plans for top performing and high potential contractors. Develop targeted product offerings and marketing campaigns based on customer and service provider profiles.
  9. Prepare creative briefs on the development and delivery of marketing deliverables that are in support of our clients' objectives as needed. Draft content for collateral, application, training and outreach materials with detailed attention to client brand guidelines and customer objectives.
  10. Coordinate participation at meetings and training events for outreach team to present. Develop presentation materials.
  11. Work closely with marketing and outreach team to monitor program results and develop recommendations to improve the impact and value of programs.
  12. Update and maintain systems including CRM, marketing automation tools, program management, survey tool, and more.
  13. Maintain excellent relationships with clients and customers.
  14. Conduct work in compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Experience, education, knowledge, skills & abilities required for competent performance in the job)
  1. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Marketing or related field. MBA preferred.
  2. 5-8 years of professional marketing or sales/business development experience in the energy, utilities and/or business to business sectors.
  3. New Jersey residency.
  4. Knowledge of energy efficiency preferred.
  5. Strong organizational, project management, problem solving and prioritization skills necessary.
  6. Self-starter and dynamic team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Demonstrated success developing and managing marketing campaigns and communication strategies and plans.
  8. Resourcefulness to meet tight deadlines and flexibility with fluctuating priorities.
  9. Proven experience using a variety of communications media, including social media. Graphic design experience a plus.
  10. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in speech and writing, with customers, staff, managers, supervisors, contractors and clients.
  11. Flexibility to travel to client offices, exhibit spaces and team offices, including overnight, as required to interface with clients, the public, and internal program management teams.
  12. Ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity and ethics.
  13. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and digital assessment management systems a plus.
  14. Perform the essential functions and physical demands of the position with or without accommodation. Valid driver's license and use of personal vehicle required. Compliance with acceptable vehicle insurance levels as outlined in the company policy.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (The physical demands of the job)
  1. Consistently spending time sitting, typing, talking, walking and using repetitive motion.
  2. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of automated office machinery, such as a computer.
  3. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
  4. Visual capacity enabling frequent use of computer equipment.
  5. Light office work: ability to exert up to 30 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
