Pain Institute of Southern Arizona is Hiring a Front Desk Receptionist Near Tucson, AZ

Job Description

Job Description

In this role, you will work at the front desk of our Pain Institute Procedure Center and aid our patients and other visitors.

You will be responsible for corresponding with patients, maintaining the organization of our office, ensuring patient information accuracy within our Electronic Health Record (EHR) and ensuring that our environment is welcoming, calm, and quiet for our patients and their families.

Medical Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities

· Greet patients, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to our medical office.

· Answer patient questions and provide directions when necessary.

· Field all phone calls and respond in an appropriate manner.

· Register all patients as they arrive, ensuring patient confidentiality.

· Obtain and review patient demographic, preferred pharmacy, current Primary Care Physician, Referring Physician and verify insurance information at each visit.

· Enter all updated information into the EHR.

· Obtain necessary patient information to meet current Federal Guidelines and Meaningful Use guidelines for electronic health records.

· Scan pertinent patient information into EHR including patient authorizations.

· Distribute forms and paperwork to patients and then check them over to ensure that required fields are completed appropriately.

· Obtain UDS specimen collection list from MAs and provide container to patients as needed.

· Collect all co-payments: cash, checks, and/or credit cards and document appropriately.

· Review previous balance with patient and ask for a payment toward balance. If needed provide financial assistance information.

· Obtain patient authorization for release of medical records (HIPPA), collect charge for paper record, print and provide to patient.

· Prepare all provider records/charts for the next day visit.

· Review financial eligibility for upcoming patient visits.

· Maintain confidentiality of all patient records and comply with all HIPPA Regulations.

· Manage inventory of necessary office supplies and coordinate reordering.

· Ensure that the waiting room environment remains quiet, calm, and welcoming.

· Uphold the positive reputation of our pain clinics and procedure suites by always treating patients and visitors in a friendly, welcoming, and compassionate manner.

· Other duties as assigned

Medical Receptionist Requirements and Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Friendly and compassionate disposition

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Strong interpersonal communication skills

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

· Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records
