Job DetailsJob Summary: Designs, develops, and optimizes complex systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality. They apply engineering principles to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance the performance of manufacturing processes and systems. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Analyze existing production processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Design and develop efficient manufacturing systems, processes, and equipment layout.
  • Conduct time studies and work sampling to establish standard work procedures and labor standards.
  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies, such as lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Create and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Optimize supply chain management and logistics to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
  • Utilize simulation software and other analytical tools to model production scenarios and test proposed changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and management, to implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain high product standards.
  • Train and support staff in new processes and equipment operation.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate production metrics to ensure goals are met.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance, if required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field. OR equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Five (5) years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and simulation tools.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
