Shedd Recruiting Solutions is Hiring a Business Development Director Near Vienna, VA

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Director to join our client’s corporate team. The Business Development Director will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving our client’s business. They accomplish this by conducting research, interpreting data, and making recommendations based on their findings.

Our client is a minority-owned SBA 8(a) specialized consulting firm, offering innovative Cybersecurity, Cloud Migration, and Information Technology Modernization to federal customers. Applicants must reside within the Washington, DC metro area in order to accommodate in person meetings as needed. 

This is a direct hire position with a negotiable compensation package consisting of base salary and commissions based upon meeting growth quotas.

Responsibilities Include:

· Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities that build pipelines.

· Initiate, participate in, support, and manage where appropriate, proposal development efforts.

· Interface continuously with business development and market intelligence tools/assets (GovWin/Bloomberg).

· Research specific contract and customer data using Federal databases such as FPDS, DSBS, GSA Advantage, USA Spending.gov, and others.

· Research new opportunities, customers, and competitors using various open-source tools such as FedBizOpps, GovWin IQ, DACIS and IDIQ/vehicle portals.

· Develop new customer and teaming relationships including JVs, foster existing ones and effectively execute the process for NDAs and Teaming Agreements.

· Collaborate with the President/CEO to monitor and research external and internal sources that enable the identification and qualification of new business opportunities.

· Standardize and maintain BD/Operations leveraging SharePoint sites.

· Collect competitive intelligence across federal and commercial markets to support strategic growth and improve capture management.

· Work collaboratively with the President/CEO to evaluate and rank new opportunities.

· Participate in the development of capture plans and proposal solutioning strategies.

· Assist with the facilitation and development of the business development process to include ensuring timelines and milestones are met.

· Assist with proposal development to include black hat research, win theme development, and reviews.

· Lead business development presentations and discussions with both internal and external stakeholders.

· Stay current with electronic marketing by constant education of current technology, sites, and tools.

· Work with the executive team to revise and update the corporate business development & growth strategy.

· Assist in the preparation and distribution of marketing literature and communication materials.

· Maintain and manage Win/Loss database for internal SharePoint site.

· Prepare, analyze, and document Section M reports from government debriefs, Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics CRM reports to maintain and update Win/Loss database.

· Document findings of studies and implement new systems or procedures based on those findings.

· Read publications and attend seminars on industry trends to aid in keeping ahead of the competition.

· Assist with writing proposals.

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

· Proven senior-level experience in a business development role within the federal contracting industry.

· Bachelor's degree in a related field. Master's degree preferred.

· Must reside within a commutable distance of the Washington, DC metro area to attend in person meetings, conferences, etc. as needed.

· Strong understanding of federal procurement regulations, processes, and procedures.

· Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
