Position Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Location: Greenwood Elementary School & Dolbeare Elementary School
Summary:
Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to cover a long-term leave. This position will start mid-September, 2024 and will end early December, 2024. This position is for 5 full days per week, hours consistent with the Unit A contract.
Qualifications::
- Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology
- Licensed SLP in Massachusetts
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Experience working with elementary-aged children strongly preferred
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders in students
- Utilize standardized tests, observational methods, and other assessment tools to evaluate student needs
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and student needs
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students individually or in small groups
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students requiring speech and language services
- Participate in IEP meetings to provide insights and recommendations regarding student progress and goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom environment
- Provide consultation and training to educators and parents on speech and language development and strategies
