The System Engineer will analyze system requirements and assist with formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies. Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Perform domain administrative tasks associated with Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Domain Names Services (DNS), Group Policy Objects (GPO’s), Microsoft SQL Databases. Manage server certificates Manage ESXi Hosts, Linux servers, Windows Servers, Virtual Machines, and Nutanix Administration Responsible for backup, recovery functions, and the following, but not limited to: Overall system functionality, programming, trouble shooting, repair, rebuild databases, and maintenance of all ACAM and VMS servers. Analyze system operations and the results of system tests, to ensure proper system operation and determine the need for maintenance. Perform hardware and software system patches, upgrades, service packs, and hot fixes to ensure system availability, reliability, and service ability. Ensure that system malfunctions are identified and, where possible, corrected Advise the Project Manager of all malfunctions and the actions taken for correction. Initiate authorized tests of the operation of the hyper-converged servers that support the video management system, security system and designated components and subsystems to ensure proper operation or to identify the need for maintenance to include updating and installing peripheral licensing and software upgrades for all VMS applications. Respond to trouble tickets from the Service Desk automated trouble ticketing system. Advise the Project Manager of abnormalities and shortcomings of existing systems that may significantly affect the design of next generation systems, or result in the identification of better methodology or operational techniques. Development and implementation of a robust preventative maintenance program. Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility. Communicate with other program personnel and government overseers. Qualifications Bachelors Degree or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. MSCE Certification and or RHCSA Six (6) years experience working within Microsoft computing environments and programming Thorough knowledge of System Engineering – Design Principles Knowledge of and experience with Server automation and monitoring tools Experienced with network technology/topology Capable of troubleshooting network connectivity issues such as network interface (NIC), cabling, TCP/IP configuration issues and basic messaging system administration (e-mail); Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues using configuration analysis and subsystem (hard drive, memory, monitors, and power supplies) repair/replacement procedures Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
