McCall Middle School is looking for a talented and dedicated English Teacher beginning September 3, 2024.

• Candidates should be passionate about creating a student-centered environment conducive to the intellectual, social, and emotional development of middle school school age students.
• Candidates should have a detailed understanding of effective methods and a strong knowledge of pedagogy for the English classroom that include the writing process, reader response, and a flexible repertoire for assessing skills that incorporates performance-based assessments.
• Candidates should have a growth mindset and embrace collaboration and curriculum development within the goal of continuous improvement.
• Responsiveness to the value of including diverse texts and the infusion of technology is valued.
• A commitment to developing, selecting and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students should be part of the regular practice of the candidate.
• Preference will be given to candidates with co-teaching experience.
• A valid DESE certification in English 5-8 and an undergraduate degree in English are required. A Master’s degree is preferred.

McCall Middle School (Winchester, MA) serves more than 1,084 students and their families in grades 6-8. Our entire faculty and staff work with students to achieve high academic and social standards as well as personal and community responsibility. Personal and academic growth as well as building skills in self-advocacy during the middle school years prepares students for high school and beyond.
