The Chickasaw Nation is Hiring an Optician Assistant Near Ada, OK

We are currently looking for a Full Time Optician Assistant to join our Optician Laboratory team located at the Oklahoma Optical Lab working .
Summary:
Responsible for providing assistance for the daily operations of the retail business in the manufacture and supply of optical goods. This position may require working on Saturdays and evenings in addition to normal hours. This position is intended to handle the day-to-day operational decisions within the delegated areas of responsibility and to actively communicate all pertinent information to the manager. This position should promote education to the customer base concerning optical goods and features available to promote healthy eyes and prevent environmental damage by use of proper eyewear. Position shall be responsible for ensuring proper fit of frames to the customer and obtaining critical measurements required to manufacture optical lenses.
Responsibilities:
* Promotes communication and teamwork within the department.
* Follows sound fiscal responsibility guidelines in processing customer sales transactions.
* Adheres to establishes policies and practices that meet or exceed all legal, licensing and accrediting standards.
* Assists with developing and revising tribal health program policies, rules, procedures, directives and job specifications.
* Participates in interdisciplinary and interdepartmental performance improvement activities.
* Communicates the Tribal Health Program mission and vision.
* Attend meetings and conferences as needed.
* Answer routine inquiries and make appropriate referral of questions concerning customer needs that cannot be immediately resolved.
* Receive telephone and personal callers. Direct calls and callers based on knowledge of programs. Resolve any customer concerns speedily and effectively. Explain program concepts to inquirers.
* Ensure participation of self in continuing education opportunities provided.
* Interact with customers to ensure optical accuracy and satisfaction with finished products, working to resolve any quality issues.
* Fit and dispense glasses, contact lenses and sunglasses.
* Repair of frames and optical goods as needed.
* Track inventory to ensure adequate equipment and supplies required by department are maintained and appropriate.
* Obtain measurements and pertinent lens information for manufacture of product.
* Assist customers with frame and specialty lenses option selection.
* Receive and read incoming correspondence and reports and exercise self-judgment in preparing replies.
* Complete customer sales to include calculation of costs, receipt of payment and posting of sales transaction into computer system and any 3rd party billing process required.
* Obtain customer demographics, input into computer system and prepare customer folder and files.
* Participate in the daily operations of program to ensure patient customer satisfaction at the highest possible level.
