PREVIOUS ASC CODING EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED

With locations in Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne counties, Synergy Health Partners is a large multi-specialty group practice with a large musculoskeletal division which was established over 40 years ago. We are seeking a Certified Professional Coder, with experience coding for an Ambulatory Surgery Center, to work in our corporate billing office. This is a full-time, on-site position working primarily out of our Warren business office. This position is an hourly, non-exempt role regularly scheduled for 40 hours per week (M-F). Position Description Summary:
Responsible for coding and auditing the coding of ASC services as well as other regular medical billing activities and other duties as assigned and/or necessary.

Essential Function(s) of the Position:

• Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors.
• Review ICD10 codes for accuracy, sequencing, and specificity
• Add modifiers as appropriate
• Submit clean claims for payment
• Appropriately and correctly identify errors and refile denied/rejected claims
• Adheres to company policy and best practices in medical billing
• Identifies and resolves patient billing complaints.
• Participates in educational activities and attends staff meetings.
• Conducts self in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
High School Diploma or GED.

Certified Professional Coder with a Minimum of two years of experience coding for an ASC (orthopedic preferred).

Licensing/Certifications:

Certified Professional Coder

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Complete knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding and documentations requirements
• Medical Terminology
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software
• Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets and managing inventory
• Knowledge of principles and processed for providing customer service
• Maintain CEU's for accreditation
