In the Forklift Operator position, you are more than just an operator. You are an important part of initiating the strategies and procedures that make our unique business model successful. We must depend on you to ensure productivity through timely truck loading and unloading, sales floor set up and process of preparing products for the sales floor with the use of forklift and pallet jacks. Our operators will show quality execution of procedures provided through training while maintaining themselves in a teamwork atmosphere. Operators present themselves in a positive and professional manner, maintaining a safe, secure, and efficient warehouse environment.

You could be the right person for the job, if you:

• Use forklift or pallet jacks to stock the sales floor and load and unload trucks
• Ensure that all merchandise is shop-able – bins are free of excessive clutter and trash
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and stockroom, and set up in store displays
• Ensure sharps, foods, cleaners, and fragile items are managed at all times
• Must be able to perform general maintenance to the store including patching drywall, fixing minor store issues, changing light bulbs, etc.
• Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
• Assess, evaluate, and interpret machinery to determine the need for repairs, while securing safety by performing regular maintenance checks
• Comply with company policies and safety guidelines
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
• Ability to provide greeting and customer service skills on sales floor

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Former forklift certification and use of pallet jack required.
• Prior experience in using merchandise handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, two-wheel dollies, and box cutters.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Effective communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Detail-oriented and possessing basic time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate store processes and pricing to customers
• Ability to stock and merchandise goods

Working Conditions:

• Prolonged standing and/or sitting for duration of shift
• Working forklift for a majority of shift
• Varying indoor and outdoor conditions
• Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level
• Potential use of merchandise equipment such as box cutters, bin containers, two-wheel dollies, and pallet jacks
• Ability to scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely including frequently lifting and moving merchandise up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to but not limited to 50 pounds
• Use of ladders
• Occasionally exposed to outside weather elements and conditions
• Repetitive stooping, lifting, twisting
• Some evenings and weekends required
