Job Description
The state-of-the-art cancer center in Mullica Hill is seeking an experienced oncology advanced practice provider (APP) to join the skilled team which includes one nurse practitioner and two oncologists. We are seeking an NP or PA who is compassionate, holistic, and skilled in their management of patients and families as they navigate a cancer diagnosis.
Primary responsibilities will include:
-Managing the spectrum of care for oncology/hematology outpatients independently, as well as in collaboration with the physicians. Inpatient coverage may be required periodically
-Evaluating patients pre-chemotherapy to review labs, reconcile medications, order transfusions and infusions
-Prescribing chemotherapy, obtaining informed consent, managing infusion reactions, and supervising the infusion room alongside the nursing & pharmacy team
-Assisting with approvals for specialty medications & following protocols around medications that have REMS programs
-Provide consultation to the nursing staff around telephone triage, urgent patient care needs and paperwork
-Providing cancer specific support and education to patients and their families. This will include a pre-chemotherapy visit prior to initiation of treatment
-Symptom management during treatment as well as the provision of survivorship care
This is a day shift position Monday thru Friday and one weekend of call every 4 weeks
