Billing Specialist

This position reports to our Government Accounting Manager supporting our accounting functions with a focus on billing our governmental customers.

This position is an on-site position with the opportunity for a hybrid remote work schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare weekly invoices to government customers for multiple contracts/vessels.
• Monthly tracking and follow-up of unbilled receivables
• Process monthly journal entries 
• Assist with account reconciliations
• Review detailed supporting documentation to ensure it meets requirements of
  government customers for billing purposes.
• Research and review accounting records for proper documentation, if missing.
• Create adjusting journal entries to correct errors in coding, when needed for proper
  categorization for billing purposes
• Creation of overtime billing schedules in Microsoft Excel, with reconciliation to payroll
• Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures.
• Other accounting functions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Accounting, or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree highly preferred
• Strong general math skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics software a plus
• Software/Systems used: Microsoft Office 365/Outlook/SharePoint/OneDrive
  and Docuware, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics 2018 (formerly Solomon)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines weekly
• Ability to organize and handle large volumes of documentation
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently
