Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Finishing Technician to join our 2nd shift manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper cleaning, caulking, masking, and prepping of machinery for painting, as well as undertaking light assembly work as needed. The Finishing Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency within our manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities:

1. Cleaning Machinery: Thoroughly clean machinery and equipment to remove dust, debris, and contaminants, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
2. Caulking Sections: Apply caulking materials to seal sections of machinery, ensuring tight seals and preventing leaks or damage.
3. Prepping for Painting: Prepare machinery surfaces for painting by grinding, masking, and priming if necessary, ensuring a smooth and uniform finish.
4. Light Assembly Work: Assist with light assembly tasks, including fitting components, fastening parts, and performing basic adjustments to machines.
5. Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the safe operation of tools and machinery.
6. Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of quality in all finishing processes, conducting inspections and ensuring that finished products meet established criteria.
7. Documentation: Complete necessary documentation and records related to finishing activities, including material usage, work performed, and any quality or safety issues encountered.
8. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in finishing operations, contributing to the ongoing optimization of manufacturing processes.
9. Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in finishing or related manufacturing roles.
• Familiarity with cleaning techniques, caulking methods, and surface preparation for painting.
• Basic knowledge of assembly procedures and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities and production schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a similar role.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and Lean manufacturing principles.
