Core Systems is Hiring a Test Technician Near Poway, CA
Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in both software and hardware troubleshooting. As Software Technician II, you will be responsible for supporting our Software and Troubleshooting infrastructure, resolving technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems through defined processes and procedures for reliability and compatibility before they ship to the end user. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills. Must be able to read board configuration manuals and other written instructions related to hardware and software.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Under limited supervision works from work orders, test procedures, product manuals, and verbal and written instructions to configure and test computer hardware. Sets up BIOS and loads any required software.
- Performs and assists others in troubleshooting to resolve hardware, firmware, and software problems, including issues with desktops, laptops, servers, and other peripheral devices. Perform hardware repairs or replacements as needed.
- Responsible for updating work order status.
- Interfaces with senior technicians to prioritize workflow.
- Reports any conditions that may jeopardize safety, quality, or delivery to their supervisor.
- Communicates ideas that will help improve the process, quality, product or working conditions.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Stays current with and always follows company and department policies/procedures.
- Experience with several of the following software: DOS, Windows NT, various Microsoft Windows revisions, Unix, and OS/2.
- Experience with several of the following hardware components: Motherboards, Video adapters, Network adapters, Sound cards, Fixed and Floppy disks, and various memory and cache configurations.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two to three years related hands-on PC assembly experience and/or training
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary education in the area of electronics, PC architecture, or Networking Certification
- Certificate in PC Repair
- Associates degree in related field

Non-Exempt Salary Details: The base pay rate for this role is between $20 to $28 per hour. The range for this position is an estimate. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
