POSITION SUMMARY

Under limited supervision of the Lead Operator, the Lease Operator 2 uses intermediate skills to complete assigned tasks. The Lease Operator 2 is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of daily operational check of assigned wells and production facilities, ensuring safety devices are operational, tests well to determine production rates and problems. This position may perform minor equipment repairs and housekeeping duties. Schedules will be assigned as needed by supervisors which may include OT, night & day work schedules.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of lease equipment, production facilities
  • Perform pumping skills to include tank gauging, the proper operation of 3 phase separators, line heaters, and all associated valves, and oil seals and seal records
  • Responsible for production and Well operations including routine maintenance of equipment and maintenance of the locations to company standards
  • Accurately complete Well tests, meter readings and production and injection reports
  • Keep down time and operating costs to a minimum and oil production marketable
  • Utilize appropriate safety equipment and ensure that all company policy, procedures, governmental regulations, etc. are adhered to
  • Monitor production and sales of crude oil
  • Regulate fluids from Wells to storage tanks
  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly production reports
  • Perform minor repairs on surface production and equipment under supervision
  • Manage fluid inventory on production facilities
  • Follow guidelines on surface safety equipment and report malfunctions of equipment
  • Maintain respectful and productive working relationships within and across all work groups, ensuring effective collaboration and cooperation
  • Create a work environment that is consistent with the company’s Purpose, Vision & Core Values

OTHER DUTIES

  • Work long hours and overtime as needed but limited to company policy
  • Provide field wide contact with all personnel in the event of emergency or other significant occurrences
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned to support the success of the department and company

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Understand and safely operate pigging facilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe work behavior and habits
  • Refined computer skills to work with various computer programs
  • Ability to lift 80lbs, maneuver heavy objects and operate machinery
  • Secures and maintains all Jonah-issued equipment, including but not limited to computers, vehicles and analysis of test equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively converse with all levels of the company, customers, business associates
  • Professional integrity and accountability
  • Write legibly an intelligently
  • Read and follow directions
  • Operate a vehicle safely (in all weather conditions) to drive to oil & gas equipment locations located in rural/open range country
  • Work will be performed in hazardous driving and working condition in all seasons of the year
  • Understand the safe operation of valves and facilities operating under high pressure/temperature
  • Able and willing to work under minimal supervision
  • Must be clean shaven and have the ability to wear a full-face respirator.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent related work experience
  • 3-8 years general Oil/Gas field and Lease Operator experience

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Current valid driver’s license

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Previous experience in Oil and Gas Exploration & Production

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-8 years’ experience in Oil and Gas Production and Optimization
