PURPOSE: The Planning Support Specialist shall provide technical and administrative support for the Body Shop Planning organization during equipment integration, installation, commissioning, optimization, and production ramp-up for current and future body shop projects.RESPONSIBILITIES: Update, manage, and coordinate scheduling for multi-disciplined projectsCoordinate the scheduling of departmental meetingsPrepare agendas, take meeting minutes and ensure timely follow-up for tasks assigned to the teamMaintain overview of project open items list, follow-up, and prepare reports to detail project statusProactively follow-up on outstanding tasks and issues on behalf of managementPrepare clear and well-written communications on behalf of managementPrepare and coordinate various reports, presentations and documents within the department by gathering data and/or preparing PowerPoint slidesProvide back-up administrative and technical support as requiredPresentation of project progress, risks, opportunities and financial reporting, as applicableMaintain cross-departmental collaboration and communication: Quality, Production Control, Production, Maintenance, PlanningCollaborate with Purchasing, as needed, to track project contracting and overall milestone managementSupport shop-floor investigations for layout development activity and update MicroStation layouts, as neededPrepare Finance and Purchasing documents (shopping carts, PoAs, etc.) for project quotation development and contractingDevelop RFQ packages and technical specifications for project-related activitiesRealization of pre-production series and production ramp-up to final series operationTravel is not planned.Work Schedule: Thursday through Monday, based on 40 hours per week.Work schedule may temporarily change during extended plant shutdowns, according to business needQUALIFICATIONS: Required: Bachelor degree in business administration or technical degree.Preferred: 4-Year engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical)REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong Microsoft Office skillsProven history of working within a teamProject management and reportingTechnical knowledge of production systemsAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to read and understand engineering drawingsFamiliar with 3D and 2D design softwarePREFERRED SKILLS: Proficient in German languageFamiliar with robotic and PLC controlsExperience with OEM production systems.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE: Location: Chattanooga, TNSchedule: Thu-Mon 40hr weeksAssignment Start: ASAPDISCLAIMER:This job description is a high-level overview of general expectations of this position.
