Under the direction of the Utility Supervisor, the Utility Worker performs a variety of duties related to the cleaning and servicing of Long Beach Transit (LBT) buses and other vehicles and equipment, facility grounds, and work areas.
Candidates must be 21 years or older with a valid California Class C driver's license, an excellent safe driving record, and the ability to upgrade to a Class B license. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The equivalent of a high school diploma or GED. Six months of full-time related work experience in a position successfully performing janitorial and/or industrial cleaning duties or a position responsible for the cleaning, maintenance and/or servicing of a variety of vehicles.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The essential functions of the job are performed in a shop environment and outside in various weather conditions. This job requires stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, standing, walking, carrying, and heavy lifting.
