JOB
This is a contractual temporary position not to exceed one (1) year. This position is full time, 40 hours a week. After the applicable waiting period, the individual will be eligible for health benefits.The City of Port St. Lucie is an equal opportunity employer. This position requires the applicant to successfully pass a drug screening.Administrative and financial assistance position providing services to the Neighborhood Services Department’s Community Programs Division. Facilitates the development of public trust and confidence in the City. This is a grant-funded position.This position is Essential classification and will be required to report to duty before, during, and immediately after a civil emergency.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The following duties are illustrative for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned. Keeps the mission, vision, and values of the City of Port St. Lucie and the Neighborhood Services Department at the forefront of decision making and action; builds strategic and collaborative relationships and interacts with others in a way that builds confidence and trust; provides excellent customer service by taking action to accomplish objectives, maintains high levels of work and productivity by generating innovative solutions to work situations.Performs duties of a staff assistant nature and participates directly in the work of the individual(s) supported relative to grants, the Community Programs Division, and other related functions. Secures details of specialized information and provides information regarding services and operation of the division.Assists with the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Program, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and any other grants or grant management program support needed.Assists Grant Coordinators and Housing Program Manager with program activities that include but are not limited to: communicating with applicants, lenders contractors, or inspection services, assisting with the preparation of financial reports and/or purchasing information, data entry tasks as assigned, assisting with the implementation of third party verifications and the processing of sensitive applicant information.May assist with sub-recipient communications and compliance with federal regulatory requirements such as Davis Bacon, environmental assessments, and/or sub-recipient monitoring as assigned.Processes grant applications via the Department’s grant application software and other online tools. Acts as a liaison to the public as it relates to the department’s programs and records. Attends training as needed and remains well informed about processes and procedures.Acts as liaison to other Departments as it relates to requesting items, work orders, or other tasks as needed. Receives and processes mail and formulates reports for Department as may be required.Assists in research and schedules, travel, and training for staff as needed. Assists in keeping appointments, calendars, and/or schedules for the Department’s grant activities, as needed.Receives and screens calls and refers callers to other divisions and/or employees as appropriate. Acts as one of the main contact points for the Department on the City’s 1PSL call line.Other duties as may be assigned. 1PSL CALL TAKER RESPONSIBILITIESHandles 1PSL customer concerns/complaints and requests for service or reroutes to appropriate personnel for resolution.Creates, responds, distributes, monitors, and resolves customer service-related matters through the utilization of customer service and work order programs such as 1PSL and other data systems.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 Pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
