Position Title : Senior Electronic Security System (ESS) Specialist (Team Lead)

Location : Guantanamo Bay (GTMO), Cuba

Minimum Clearance Required to Start : Top Secret/SCI

Required Education : Must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree.

Required Experience : At least five (5) years of specialized experience in Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and intrusion detection systems (IDS).

Certifications :

  • Must have a minimum Lenel Certified Expert (LCE) certification.

Overview

The Senior Electronic Security System (ESS) Specialist Team Lead will provide design solutions for governmental approval through the installation, maintenance, and administration of the Electronic Security Systems (ESS) including Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), biometrics, access control systems (ACS), and closed circuit television (CCTV), in accordance with DoD and DNI policies and industry standards; Responsible for installing, programming, maintaining, and repairing the security alarm wiring and equipment and ensure work is completed in accordance with relevant SOUTHCOM JTF-GTMO guidelines.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Provide design solutions for governmental approval through the installation, maintenance, and administration of the ESS to include Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), biometrics, access control systems (ACS), and closed circuit television (CCTV), IAW DoD and DNI policies and industry standards.
  • Provide recommendations for assessments, design, installation, and maintenance of Government procured equipment.
  • Conduct the installation of ESS devices compatible with the current ESS infrastructure to include the installation of hardware, software, and the planning of any future infrastructure or devices in accordance with ESS installation federal and local policies.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace inoperable ESS devices.
  • Responsible for semi-annual testing of ESS devices to include testing of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Balance Magnetic Switches (BMS), and Motion Detectors.
  • Conduct a quarterly inventory to ensure accountability and availability.
  • As required, drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, and other areas.
  • Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation.
  • Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.
  • Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine whether materials requirements and installation procedures have been met.
  • Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, and related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.
  • Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, and video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring in order to connect components.
  • Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.
  • Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must have at least three (5) years of specialized experience in Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
  • Must have experience in all areas required for designing, maintaining, installing, and supporting automated IDS, biometrics, access control systems, surveillance cameras, IDS fence-line, and a particular emphasis on CCTV.
  • Must have knowledge of governing laws, regulations, precedents, and directives governing DoD security programs.
  • Must have knowledge of DoD physical security program concepts and principles.
  • Must be proficient in the use of COTS and GOTS to support security systems.
  • Must possess a current Lenel Expert (LCE) certification.
  • Must possess a current Top Secret (TS) clearance based upon a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the past five (5) years and shall also be determined eligible for access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) by the Central Adjudication Facility (CAF) or other designated adjudication authority before arrival onsite.
  • Must have an Associate’s Degree.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications.
  • Must possess working knowledge of the directives, instructions, regulations, and procedures governing the DoD Physical and Information Security Programs and the DoD and DNI Programs for the protection of SCI and SCIFs.
  • Must possess general understanding of the other DoD Security Programs (i.e., Industrial, and Personnel Security Programs) and how the ESS relates.
  • The candidate must know the laws, regulations, precedents, and directives governing the DoD security program and the DoD physical security program concepts and principles.

Work Environment:

  • May be exposed to weather conditions over 100 degrees and various climates and inclement conditions. At times, safety clothing and equipment may be required.

Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
  • This position requires lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and frequent, prolonged periods of standing, bending, pulling, twisting, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

Expected Hours of Work:

  • 40 hours per week based on the customer’s core operating hours.
