Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Division Director is responsible for recruiting, training and motivating prearrangement consultants to sell pre-paid funeral plans at each respective funeral home owned and/or operated by Denver Roller, Inc. within the state of Arkansas. The Division Director is to provide positive leadership to a team of consultants and Certified Preplanning Consultants for the continued growth and success of the Funeral Home Division.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Recruit pre-planning consultants as needed in each location to sell pre-paid funeral plans.
  2. License and train (both classroom and field) consultants as needed within each location.
  3. Design and implement training procedures, sales materials and formal presentation to be used by all sales consultants.
  4. Encourage, motivate and seek to build morale of consultants. Deal fairly and firmly with conflicts, contain disputes and seek to build a cooperative spirit among the consultants.
  5. Help each consultant attain their highest potential through positive leadership and example.
  6. Monitor and encourage continuing education of consultants.
  7. Seek ways to improve the marketing of existing products.
  8. Attend and participate in management meetings.
  9. Support Company sponsored projects, programs and contests, etc.
  10. Submit an operation plan annually.
  11. Design, implement and monitor lead generating systems and programs.
  12. Participate in community functions and activities and represent the Company in the community.
  13. Keep abreast of changes in regulations and procedures affecting the Company's operations; Attend appropriate seminars and business meetings.
  14. Prepare computer generated reports using Microsoft Office including Excel Spreadsheets and Word Documents as required by the Executive Team.
  15. In-depth knowledge of funeral home operations, caskets, outer burial containers, cremation and the laws pertaining to Pre-Paid Funeral Sales.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Travel to all locations within the state as needed and or deemed necessary by the Company.
  2. Continue to educate yourself annually through respective courses, meetings, events and Company sponsored programs related to the operation's funeral homes and/or crematories.
  3. Conduct monthly Agent evaluations.
  4. Service existing customers as needed.
  5. Submit an annual operational budget and stay within parameters of that budget.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Essential Function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for the position of Division Director. EDUCATION or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma; Life Insurance License with the Arkansas Insurance Department; Certified Pre-Planning Consultant (CPC) or equivalent training not required, but a plus; Successful experience as a pre-paid funeral sales consultant; Two or more years' experience in sales, planning, goal setting, and following through on goals; Proven abilities in time management; Two or more years' experience in working with pre-need and at-need families regarding the sales of pre-paid funerals; Proven track record in working well with a team or group of individuals.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
In-depth knowledge of the sales profession; Sound knowledge of accepted business procedures; Basic knowledge of general office procedures and operation of office equipment including computers; Ability to organize and prioritize work schedule and direct the work of others; Ability to select, recruit, train and motivate agents; Ability to compose original correspondence, write reports, and institute programs to better the efforts of the overall Division; Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, consultants, customers and the general public.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid Driver's License; Reliable transportation; Flexibility to work odd hours; Travel out of state for various company sponsored seminars.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the Executive Team, internal and external customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, percentages and fractions.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
