Aon is Looking for an Project Proposal Manager- Commercial Risk Solutions

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions to our Aon Risk Solutions - Pursuit and Creative team.

A hybrid working style is helpful, but are also open to a remote working style for this opportunity!

What the day will look like

As a Project Proposal Manager, you will report directly to the Commercial Risk Manager. You will work on bids for our Aon Commercial Risk Solutions business unit writing, revising, proofreading, and finalizing proposals in response to RFPs (request for proposals) and presentations specific to client strategies. The opportunities will focus on our risk and construction lines of business.

The Proposal Manager will lead, plan, develop, produce, and deliver proposals and presentations required by client solicitations. You will provide hands-on management of the entire full-cycle project development processes, including but not limited to leading kick-off meetings, writing customized content, monitoring timelines, editing documents, working on presentation results, and ensuring compliance with the Aon brand.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with colleagues across Risk Solutions, as well as product and industry practice sales teams, and designers, to ensure that proposals and presentations reflect the best technical, management, and support offerings that Aon can make in response to RFPs.

You will be expected to assist in achieving national goals for new business and client retention via execution of the core responsibilities of the position, which focus on responding to offensive (new business) and defensive (retention/jeopardy) requests for proposals (RFPs) and presentations.

Essential job functions
  • Responsible for handling large and complex proposals and presentations
  • Continue to develop a practical and working understanding of Aon culture and solutions (this includes, but is not limited to commercial risk brokerage lines, actuarial, data & analytics, claims and risk control, initiatives related to D&I, ESG, and client management etc.)
  • Coordinate and lead proposal meetings ensuring a response strategy is established and implemented
  • Work with consultants and subject matter experts to develop customized content
  • Partner with the lead designer to ensure proposals and presentations are strategic and visually impactful
  • Lead presentation brainstorming and development sessions
  • Effectively collaborate with graphic designers on every project
  • Ability to work independently at a fast pace while being flexible in light of project shifts
Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • 5 years of professional work experience in bid management, insurance, and brokerage proven experience strongly preferred
  • Proven background in the development of custom strategic content (leveraging strategic messaging/value propositions) and strong editing skills required
  • Ability to handle multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, meeting all deadlines
  • Experience with crafting oral presentation deliverables, partnering with a designer and the account team
  • Ability to learn quickly and show flexibility to adapt in a growing group, working both independently and with a team mentality (required)
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields in communication required
  • Will consider relevant experience in place of Bachelor's degree
Technical:
  • Working understanding of proposal management software (SharePoint, Loopio, monday.com) strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $80,000 to $88,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
