Job Summary:
The part-time aide performs a variety of tasks essential to the success of the West Georgia Technical College Adult Education Division. The Adult Education Division serves GED/HiSet and ESL students.
Essential Functions:

* Process and assist students registering for the program
(25%)
* Assist in the administering and proctoring the Test of Basic Adult Education (TABE)
(25%)
* Communicate effectively to individuals inquiring about Adult Education Services in-person, phone and email.
(10%)
* Tutor individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing instruction as advised by the instructor
(10%)
* Prepare materials, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations
(10%)
* Substitute/monitor classes for instructors on an as needed basis (not to exceed 3 consecutive days)
(5%)
* Confer with instructors concerning programs and materials to meet student needs
(5%)
* Participate in meetings, professional development and training/programs as assigned
(5%)
* Assist with recruitment and retention activities
(5%)
* Other Duties as Assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time administrative position, 19 hours per week, Monday-Thursday. Currently hiring for a morning and an evening aide on the Coweta/Newnan campus.
Location of Instruction:
Openings are currently available on the Coweta/Newnan Campus.
Rate of Pay:
$15 per hour- No benefits
Travel:
Travel to other campuses is a possibility for meetings, trainings, professional development, etc.
Required Education and Experience:
* High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) credential.
Preferred Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree;
* Experience working with adults in an educational or training setting.
* Experience working in a formal classroom in support of a teacher.
* Experience doing data entry or working with GALIS or within other databases.
* Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills;
