Looking for an STNA to join our growing hospice team! POSITION SUMMARY The Hospice Aide/ Certified Nurse Assistant/State Tested Nursing Assistant are paraprofessional members of the hospice team who work under the direction of a Registered Nurse. They perform various personal care services for a client as necessary to meet the client's needs and to promote comfort. The Certified Nurse Assistant/Hospice Aide/State Tested Nursing Assistant are responsible for observing clients and completing documentation correctly and in a timely manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be in good physical condition as the position requires the ability to stand on one's feet throughout the day
Must be able to complete performance requirements independently while using good judgment as well as have the ability to harmoniously work with others
Must be able to read, write and understand the English language
QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet Medicare Conditions of Participation for Hospice Aide training program and competency
Be 18 years of age or older
Be a high school graduate or have a completed GED
Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly
Demonstrate skill set competency by way of passing a skills competency checklist
RESPONSIBILITIES
Understands and adheres to established Agency policies and procedures
Performs personal care, bath and hands-on care as assigned
Completes appropriate visit records in a timely manner as per Agency policy
Reports changes in the patient's condition and needs to the RN
Performs household services essential to health care in the home as assigned
Performs simple procedures as an extension of the therapy or nursing services, e.g., ambulation, transfers, range of motion (ROM) exercises as assigned
Assists with medication reminders that are ordinarily self-administered as assigned
Attends in-service, care conferences, and continuing education programs as scheduled and necessary
Reporting on the patient's condition and significant changes to the assigned supervisory nurse as per Agency policy
Meets 12-hour in-service requirement annually. Certified Nursing Assistants, State Tested Nursing Assistants, and Hospice Aides working in home care must also pass a skills competency evaluation
Must keep TB and physical requirements up to date if applicable
