WK North has an opening for the CORE LAB/BLOOD BANK ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR.

Below is an outline of major job duties and responsibilities required, however you may be required to perform other related duties and activities.
Job Position: Core Lab/BBK Assistant Supervisor

Qualifications: Licensed Medical/Clinical Laboratory Scientist with LSBME, with at least 2 years of clinical laboratory experience

• Hours: Daily hours will be decided between the candidate and laboratory manager, however this individual will be required to work, as needed, to ensure adequate coverage in the laboratory.
  Seeking a highly motivated, self-directed Medical Laboratory Scientist who will assist in the oversight of the daily operations of the WK Medical Center Laboratory; however will also have duties as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in the clinical laboratory.
  Assumes responsibility for the laboratory in the absence of the department manager;
  Assists in overseeing scheduling to ensure correct staffing levels in the department;
  Assists in ensuring daily compliance with work performance standards and providing technical expertise as needed or requested;
  Assists in the oversight of the WKN laboratory quality control program;
  Assists providing customer service for questions directed at the laboratory from patient providers regarding test processes, patient results, or sample collection techniques; providing orientation for new employees with regards to hospital, general laboratory, performance improvement and safety policies.
  Assists in overseeing employee laboratory technical training to ensure competency prior to working independently;
  Assists in counseling personnel on laboratory and hospital policies concerning job performance, as needed;
  Assists in identifying and resolving problems due to breaks in communication, complaints or employee concerns ultimately to determine the root cause of the problem
  Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Laboratory Manager or Laboratory Director.
