SALARY: $65,000-$75,000, 40 HOURS A WEEK PLUS FULL MEDICAL BENEFITS, SOME WEEKENDS AND EVENINGS

PROGRAM & POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC) is one of San Francisco’s most successful child and youth development service organizations. JCYC is seeking a mission-driven individual to coordinate the organization’s youth development programs. The Youth Development Manager is an integral member of the Youth Development Team in managing and supporting the planning and implementation of program curriculum and activities and will report directly to the Director of Youth Development.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in working collaboratively with adults and youth and developing strong relationships with program participants, program stakeholders and community organizations. They will be detail-orientated and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and changing environment. They must be flexible with varying schedules and activities during the week.

JCYC Youth Development Programs include: Japantown Youth Leaders (JYL), Tomodachi (Tomo), Nikkei Community Internship (NCI), the National Torchbearer Fellow Program, Asian Youth Prevention Services (AYPS and Elevate Youth California (EYC) are Youth Development Programs of JCYC. JYL is designed to foster leadership development and engage participants in activities that support personal development. Tomodachi provides summer programming for elementary and middle school aged children, as well as youth leadership experience for high school students. NCI is a statewide initiative that provides college students with a paid summer internship in the three remaining Japantowns. JCYC is the Northern California coordinating organization for the National Torchbearer project which selects post-grad fellows to participate in a nationwide engage in civic dialogue around emerging social issues with other cohorts across the nation. AYPS and EYC strive to prevent, delay and reduce the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD) among youth in San Francisco.
