Performs general repairs not requiring a specialized technician (e.g., repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures); Performs routine maintenance on building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems); Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities; Ensures that facility and general use fleet vehicle upkeep and maintenance is completed in a timely and financially prudent manner; Is accountable for following established best practices and standard operating procedures; Ensures department equity and compliance with all federal, state and local regulations; safety, security, and quality standards/codes, and agency policy. Understands and complies with CARF standards; Works collaboratively within the department to maximize service opportunities and maintain a continuous improvement agenda; Is available during nontraditional hours including some weekend and evening periods; Serves as an emergency contact for agency locations in need of support outside regular business hours. High School Diploma or equivalent; A minimum of 4 years military service or related full-time experience; Ability to safely operate various types of general maintenance equipment including hand tools, power tools, etc.; Effective written and verbal communication skills; Excellent time management skills; Possess a positive attitude and infect others with similar enthusiasm; Loyalty to the agency and its mission and policies; Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and automobile insurance; Ability to use good judgment, discretion, and initiative; Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, crawl into awkward spaces, and stand or walk for prolonged periods of time; Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to fifty pounds at a time; Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
