Silverstrand Construction is a General Contractor that works exclusively in the Federal Government and Public Works contracting arena. We are a General Contractor focused on Capital Improvement, Design-Build, Bid-Build and Heavy Civil Projects. Silverstrand Construction self-performs work with skilled operators for our Civil and Underground projects. We currently have projects throughout Northern and Southern California. We are a quality leader in project management and are focused on safety and awareness in the job-site. Estimator must be familiar with Public Works, DoD and Federal projects.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location and other factors to ensure a high quality and timely estimate.
• Review drawings, specifications and proposed project site conditions; record findings and solicit input from field operations to include in final project estimate.
• Review “take-off” quantities to ensure accuracy of data used in estimates.
• Present estimate and participate in bid reviews with senior management to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate with owners, subcontractors, public and Gov’t entities to ensure competitiveness.

Education/Experience:

• Seven plus years of estimating experience including experience bidding underground structures and utilities.
• Experience devoted to Price/Cost Estimation - reviewing bids from subcontractors, evaluating price/cost of material and labor
• High level of proficiency in MS Office applications. Expertise in multiple estimating processes including line item estimating, take offs and Cost Estimating Methodologies utilizing Excel and Google Sheets. 
• Complete understanding and experience performing quantity takeoff surveys.
• Experience working in a collaborative environment; ability to work well under tight deadlines.
• Effectively interact with a wide range of personnel.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and communication skills.
